Those most associated with it are: Franklin King, Sir Robert McCarrison, Sir Albert Howard, Lady Eve Balfour and Jerome Rodale in the US. In 1946 The Soil Association became the official body in UK and The Rodale Institute in the US in 1947.
No Dig
Charles Dowding has created the No Dig movement in Somerset, UK, which is a refined version or organic farming;
1 Leave soil undisturbed as much as is practical.
2 Feed the masses of soil life with organic matter on the surface, as happens in nature, to maintain drainage and aeration.
No dig works on all soils including heavy clay.
