Look at the column on your Birth Certificate where your parent signed. It is titled ‘signature, residence and description of the informant.’

‘Informant’ is a criminal term. An informant is ‘one who informs against another, especially one who confidentially supplies information to the police about a crime, sometimes in exchange for a reward or special treatment.’ Blacks Law Dictionary 8th Edition.

Why is a parent ‘informing’ the state when ‘registering’ the birth of their child?

The deceased infant is the 'straw-man', the dead person who exists in the world of commerce. This is why your Passport and Driving Licence are all in capitals. It looks like you, but it isn't.
