Leaps of Consciousness

Etymology

Etymology is the origin and history of words.

For example, the word ‘belief' has the word ‘lie’ in it.

A belief is only true at the level of consciousness in the moment.

In another instant, at a higher level of consciousness, the belief may not be true. For example, you say a rude word when another driver carves you up on the way to work. If the same driver does the same thing the next day, we may notice they look stressed or preoccupied and let it go. The same external event but completely different thoughts.

Three things come from this:

  • Nothing that happens outside of us can make us feel or do anything - only what we think of it in the moment.
  • What we think depends on our level of consciousness in the moment. Happy people have happy thoughts and a happy life, and miserable people the opposite.
  • Life is what we think it is. We create our experience from moment to moment with thought.
