Leaps of Consciousness

Indigenous - Holistic

There are indigenous healers in all populated continents.

Traditional healers have a holistic approach, so they see a man or woman not just as a body but “a whole being, where mind, body and spirit are seen as one and connected to other people, to families, to communities, and even to the planet and universe”.

A fundamental principle of Native American culture is wholeness and interrelatedness. Everything is considered to have life, is interconnected, intertwined, and everything affects everything else.

However, “during the period of colonization, there were bans, criminalization, and suppression of cultural practices, including the suppression of Indigenous Healing knowledge and practices by enacting laws such as the Tohunga suppression law in New Zealand, and the ban on Healing ceremonies in Canada. Over the years, Indigenous Traditional Healing practices have been revitalized in Indigenous societies through cultural resurgence and resilience.
